The holiday season is my favourite time of year to be at Walt Disney World. The Christmas decorations, the holidays parties, and the extra sparkle of magic in the air makes it desirable.
But, with all the extra activities, this can often lead to extra costs too. However, there are many holiday activities that are free or included with your theme park admission that you won’t want to miss out on.
1. Life-Size Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a gingerbread house? Here’s your chance to see a giant gingerbread house up close. Located in the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa you’ll be in awe at the hand baked and built creation.

Be sure to buy a piece of the house while you’re there for a great gingerbread snack for your vacation or to take home with you.
2. Christmas Decorations at the EPCOT Resort Area
One of my favourite Christmas activities when I’m at Walt Disney World is to go from hotel to hotel checking out all the holiday decorations. My favourite ones are in the EPCOT Resort area.
Walk around Crescent Lake and explore Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Make sure you go inside to see the lobbies.
My favourite decorations in this area are the gingerbread sculpture at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and the Christmas Tree outside at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.
3. Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs
Disney Springs Area is known for its shopping and dining but during November and December you can find many fun holiday activities including “snow” and live music. My favourite though is the Christmas Tree Stroll.
Be on the look out for unique themed Christmas trees throughout the Disney Springs Area. You can even pick up a complimentary map to help you find all the trees.
The first year of the stroll, there was a designated “trail” area that you would walk through. Now the trees are spread out around Disney Springs for you to enjoy as you shop and dine.
4. Meet Santa Claus
The Christmas season isn’t complete without a visit with Old Saint Nick.

There are many locations at Walt Disney World where your kids can share their wish list.
- Magic Kingdom Park – Storybook Circus *theme park admission required
- EPCOT – The Odyssey and around the World Showcase for Santas of different cultures *theme park admission required
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom – DinoLand U.S.A. *theme park admission required
- Disney Springs – Marketplace *virtual queue
Whichever activities you choose to do, the Magic of Christmas at the Most Magical Place on Earth can’t be beat.
What’s your favourite holiday activity at Walt Disney World?
